Trying the thing you’ve walked past twelve times.

Sometimes all it takes is a tiny invitation to interrupt the familiar and see what happens.

That’s what we hope to offer here.

Books, objects, ideas and experiences chosen not because they promise to change your life, but because they might give you a reason to interact with the life you already have a little differently.

What happens after that is entirely up to you.

Made in the USA whenever possible. Chosen with intention, always.

We love supporting American makers and manufacturers, and we look for Made-in-the-USA options whenever we can.

But where something is made isn’t the only thing that makes it worth bringing into your life.

Sometimes we find something wonderful that simply isn’t made here — something beautifully designed, genuinely useful, unexpectedly delightful, or just really good at turning an ordinary afternoon into something more interesting.

When that happens, we don’t believe in choosing a lesser product simply to check a box.

So you’ll find plenty of American-made goods at Elamae, along with carefully chosen things from elsewhere.

Either way, it made the cut for the same reason:

We thought you might do something wonderful with it.

Why Elamae?

Elamae was named for my grandmother.

The name felt right for something created for women moving forward; women with history behind them, possibility ahead of them, and absolutely no requirement to have everything figured out in between.

Elamae isn’t here to tell you who to become.

We’re much more interested in seeing what you decide to do next.
